Mintee on Deadman’s is at Point Lookout on North Stradbroke Island, the scenic ocean side of Straddie. Just off the coast of Brisbane across Moreton Bay, Straddie and is approximately one hour from Brisbane International Airport and Brisbane City and one and a half hours from the Gold Coast.
The island is accessible by vehicular ferry or water taxi. Ferries and water taxis leave from Cleveland – Toondah Harbour on Middle Street. And as soon as your reach the harbour ready for your trip across the bay, you will feel like your holiday has begun.
To Cleveland from Brisbane airport by car: Travel across the Gateway Bridge and take the Cleveland exit, approximately 6 km south of the Gateway Bridge, and follow Old Cleveland Road to Cleveland.
To Cleveland from Brisbane city by public transport: Take the CityTrain to “Cleveland” station . A regular free shuttle bus runs from the train station to Toondah Harbour. Look for the buses marked with the “Stradbroke Ferries” logo.
To Cleveland from the Gold Coast by car: Take the Bryants Road / Cleveland exit off the Pacific Highway and follow signs to Cleveland.
Vehicular ferry: Most visitors take their car on the vehicular ferries that operate from Cleveland across Moreton Bay to Dunwich, the bay town on North Stradbroke Island. The ferry takes approximately 50 minutes to cross Moreton Bay. From Dunwich, it is a 12 minute drive to Point Lookout. The return price for a vehicle including all of the occupants is approximately AUD $150, but rates depend on time of travel. There are often discounts for RACQ members or if you book online.
Water taxi: For those travelling without a car, water taxis will take you to Dunwich and link with a local bus service that will take you to Point Lookout, just near Mintee on Deadman’s.
